Garden waste collection changes
The last day for brown bin service will be 13 December 2024. Brown bin collection will restart 14 January 2025.
In Peterborough, we collect waste from up to four different bins from outside your home:
- Black bin - general waste
- Grey bin - food waste
- Green bin - recycling waste
- Brown bin - garden waste (optional service, available upon request)
Bin collection day
You can find the collection days for your black general waste bin, green recycling bin and brown garden waste bin using our postcode look up tool.
We collect grey food waste bins once a week on your normal collection day, along with your black or green bin.

Please ensure your postcode appears in the following format PE1 1GT.
The space should be included for the search to work.
Please make sure you put your bin out by 6.45am on collection day.
Report a missed bin collection
You can report a missed bin collection on our WasteWorks system. You have until 4pm the next working day after your scheduled collection to let us know.
If you call our Customer Services Team before 5pm on collection day, the crew may still be in the area - 01733 747474.
Please note we don't return to empty missed food bins due to it being a weekly service.
Assisted bin collection service
We can provide an assisted collection service to residents who are unable to move their bins to the kerbside due to ill health, disability or mobility issues.
