Items you can put in your brown bin
Please place all garden waste loose in the brown bin. Do not put in bags or liners, including compostable or biodegradable liners.
- Grass cuttings
- Hedge trimmings
- Tree and shrub prunings
- Leaves
- Weeds
- Old flowers and plants
- Windfall fruit and vegetables waste from the garden (not kitchen waste)
Items you cannot put in your brown bin
- Invasive plant species - e.g. Japanese Knotweed, Giant Hogweed
- Food or kitchen waste
- Soil or rubble
- Pet waste and bedding
- General household waste
- Flower pots and plastic bags
