What a 'Cost of Living Support Hub' is and how it can help you
We have set up Cost of Living Support Hubs across Peterborough with our community partners.
A Cost of Living Support Hub is a place where residents who are struggling with the cost of living can go for help and support.
The hubs are hosted in familiar community spaces and located across the city for easy access.
Hubs may vary in terms of what support they can offer. You will need to read each hub’s individual webpage or contact them directly to find out their specific offer.
Find details of the Cost of Living Support Hubs on our Peterborough Information Network site.
Examples of support the hubs may provide include:
- Food banks offering food parcels
- Cafes offering meals – either free or on a ‘pay what you can’ basis
- Essential items such as nappies or sanitary products
- Advice on claiming benefits, obtaining furniture or household goods, or how you can get help with your energy bills
Each hub has its own offer and its own assessment criteria.
Please note
- Anti-social or aggressive behaviour is not tolerated at any of the hubs. Each hub has the right to refuse service in line with their own anti-social behaviour policies.
- Support offers from hubs may change subject to demand and feedback
- We update our listings on the Peterborough Information Network site when the hubs tell us of changes to their offer
- Each hub will collect personal information about you and this will be used to process your application for financial support or white goods. You will be advised of the terms and conditions of your application and how certain aspects such as white goods are restricted to avoid individuals seeking to obtain more than one white good. The council and its partners acting as hubs are under a duty to protect the public funds we administer and to this end may lawfully use and disclose information to each other for the purpose of (a) Preventing or detecting fraud and any other crime and/or (b) Protecting public funds in investigating misuse of public money.
