The Bright Futures Awards 2025
The Peterborough Youth Council is proud to present the Bright Futures Awards 2025. These awards aim to recognise the amazing work of young people aged 11-18 (Year 7-13). Young people in Peterborough are determined, hardworking individuals who deserve to be celebrated and the Youth Council has organised a special awards ceremony as part of this initiative, taking place at The Fleet in Fletton, Peterborough on Thursday 3 April 2025. There are six award categories:
- STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)
- Humanities
- Visual Arts
- Performing Arts
- Sports
- Social Action
These categories have been chosen with the aim of recognising students’ achievements within all fields, so that everyone from future doctors to aspiring actors are celebrated. Each category is split into age groups as well, so that young people across different ages can be awarded for their work. Over 100 people have entered the competition which the Youth Council promoted by sending nomination forms to schools and youth groups in the city.
This event would not be possible without the generosity of the individuals and organisations sponsoring the ceremony. The Peterborough Youth Council is incredibly grateful to Peterborough Cultural Alliance, ARU Peterborough, Athene Communications, Peterborough Presents, Indian Friends of Peterborough, and Councillor Dennis Jones, for their continuous support of the youth of Peterborough.
How to nominate a young person for the Bright Future Awards awards
