The courses listed below are for parents of children and teenagers aged from 11 years old to 19 years old.

All of the courses are free for parents in Peterborough.

1. Triple P Teen

Triple P Teen is for parents of teenagers up to 16 years old who are interested in learning a variety of parenting skills.

Parents may be interested in promoting their teenager’s development and potential or they may have concerns about their teenager’s behaviour.

The Triple P Teen course is for parents of 11-16s who may be interested in promoting their teenager’s development and potential or they may have concerns about their teenager’s behaviour.

The Triple P Teen course is delivered over eight weeks.

Parents actively participate in a range of exercises to learn about the influences on adolescent behaviour, setting specific goals, and using strategies to promote a teenager’s skills development, manage inappropriate behaviour, and teach emotional self-regulation.

2. Solihull In Our Place online courses

The Family Hubs team have partnered with In Our Place to offer free courses to help you understand how best to support your child. There are free courses available for parents and carers including:

  • Understanding your child: from toddler to teenager
  • Understanding your teenager's brain
  • Understanding your feelings (a course for teenagers)

3. Healthy Relationships course

The Family Hubs team have partnered with One Plus One to offer free courses to help parents communicate better with their child’s other parent and to help parents understand the negative impact of conflict on children.

There are free courses available for parents and carers including:

  • Improve the communication with your partner to support your children (Arguing Better)
  • Improve the communication with your ex-partner to support your children (Getting it Right for Children)

Improve the communication with your partner to support your children (Arguing Better)

This course is designed to raise awareness of the impact parental conflict can have on children and help parents develop better ways of managing stress and arguments together.

Improve the communication with your ex-partner to support your children (Getting it Right for Children)

This course is designed to support separated parents, helping them to avoid the harmful situation of their children getting caught up in the middle of their conflict.

The Healthy Relationships course can be taught in the following ways:

  • One-to-one
  • Group webinars
  • Online, in your own time

Alternatively, we are running the courses as webinars via TEAMS and anyone is welcome to join, complete the online booking form to book your place on a course.
