Step into Christmas with Peterborough Christmas lights switch-on
The 2024 Christmas lights switch-on event will take place on Friday 22 November. The festivities start at 5pm with the Christmas light switch-on at 7pm. Discover more information about the switch-on event.
Each year, we install Christmas lights, a real Christmas tree and put on a spectacular switch-on event in the city centre that attracts thousands of visitors from all over the area. The lights switch-on is one of the major highlights of the city's events calendar.
Sponsorship appeal successful
An appeal to raise £56,000 to cover the cost of this year's Christmas celebrations has been achieved thanks to generous donations from businesses, organisations and individuals across Peterborough.
In addition, many of our city councillors have agreed to contribute money from their Community Leadership Fund. This fund is a pot of money they can use each year on projects which benefit the people of their ward.
